At the forefront of this trend, an apothecary in Paris has taken social media by storm. Known for its personalized products—featuring customized colors, initials and more—this shop has single-handedly revived the beauty of a modern-day apothecary.  Officine Universelle Buly 1803 a 19th-century-style apothecary, is renowned for its focus on natural ingredients, luxurious packaging and an old-school aesthetic. Revived in 2014 by Ramdane Touhami and his wife, Victoire de Taillac, the brand was reimagined as a modern version of the original Buly, founded in 1803 by Jean-Vincent Buly.

This lip balm is anything but boring. Made from natural ingredients that hydrate and repair, its luxury extends beyond the formula itself.


The packaging is what truly sells. Customers can choose from 13 colors of leather casing, with the option for personalized, gold-embossed lettering and symbols. Each purchase also includes a small velvet pouch to hold the lip balm, with the color selected by Buly.


One of the brand’s top sellers is a wide-tooth comb available in ivory and tortoiseshell. The Le Conciliant comb is designed for all hair types and is the perfect size for both a vanity and a purse.


Carved in Switzerland from a plant-based fiber called acetate, each comb features a unique pattern due to the material’s natural variations. Customers also have the option to personalize their comb with gold-embossed lettering.


At the end of the day, these products function like any other lip balm, hair comb or hand lotion. However, the sense of grandeur that comes with holding a luxurious, personalized comb is unmatched.
