Game Day Glam: Celebrity Super Bowl Fashion

By Joan Carol

With a staggering 123.4 million viewers, Super Bowl 2024 became American TV’s biggest audience since the moon landing according to CNN. Not all eyes were just on the field, however. While some of the spectators look forward to the halftime show presented by Apple Music this year, and others prefer the commercial break advertisements, there are a lot of people attracted to the Super Bowl thanks to their favorite celebrities in attendance – and what they wore.

Usher

This year's halftime show star started his set with a monochromatic cream Dolce & Gabbana ensemble. It featured a floor-length wool overcoat with a faux fur collar, fully hand-embroidered with Swarovski crystals, pearls and leaf and floral baroque motifs with dragonflies.

Under the coat, he wore an asymmetrical jacket with diamonds and rubies on top and a pair of sculptural wool pants. Of course, he had to remove the jacket to reveal a shiny vest hand-embroidered in Swarovski crystals on top of a ribbed tank top. He also removed the top to show the world his abs, along with a diamond pendant bearing his initials.

During this first part of the show, he wore matching custom leather gloves encrusted with Swarovskis. He took one of the gloves off just before leaving the stage in an apparent nod to Michael Jackson.

Usher returned to the stage wearing a shimmering blue-and-black Off-White look and riding on roller skates. The full outfit was embellished with 394,000 crystals to make him shine up on the other artists on stage, like Ludacris, who wore a similar outfit.

Taylor Swift

Taylor wore a black corset crop top and a pair of black jeans with bejeweled slits. People Magazine reported the jeans cost $695. This all-black outfit is a total contrast to the white Maison Schiaparelli dress she wore at the Grammys.

Blake Lively

Blake Lively sat with Swift during the game and was easy to spot wearing a red and white tracksuit from Balanciaga’s collaboration with Adidas. Lively chose a white tank top under the sweater and crowned the look with a chain necklace and voluminous curls.

Ice Spice

The rapper, who also sat with Lively and Swift during the full game, wore a high-neck Balenciaga dress with a necklace, holding a big cross and a black handbag.

Olivia Culpo

Christian McCaffrey’s fiancé did a great creative job. She arrived at the stadium wearing a long black coat, but with a twist: she had McCaffrey's name and number affixed to the back of the coat. The outfit was completed with big earrings and a number 23 necklace.

Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber

Justin Bieber wasn’t in the halftime show, so he was chill enough to go chest-out in the crowd. Justin wore a Marine Serre shirt that was almost completely unbuttoned. He paired the brown shirt with baggy black jeans and an MLB cap. Hailey Beiber went all in on the “mob wife trend”. She chose an oversized cheetah print coat paired with jeans. Her personal touch came in with red heels from Jil Sander.

Ariana Grande

The singer, alongside Cynthia Evivo, released the first trailer for their film adaptation of the musical Wicked during the Super Bowl. They both wore Louis Vuitton football jerseys, made exclusively for them, with their characters' names in the movie on the back.

Paul Rudd

We need to talk about the Rudd family’s wardrobe decision because they represent every sports fan in the world. It is easy to guess that Rudd is a Kansas City Chiefs fan. He and his son wore Chiefs shirts, just like any other supporter of their team. Paul wore No. 58 to represent Hall of Famer Derrick Thomas of the Chiefs.
