He’s a singer, songwriter, actor, fashion pioneer, and now the owner of his own beauty brand. What can’t Harry Styles do?
Earlier this week British heartthrob Harry Styles announced the launch of his very own beauty brand, Pleasing.
With a welcome post on Pleasing’s Instagram story, Styles uses the tagline “Find your Pleasing.” In this post, Styles explains that Pleasing is a life brand, whose mission is to “bring joyful experiences and products that excite the senses and blur the boundaries.”
So far, the first product launch “Perfect Pearl” includes a set of four nail polish colors, an illuminating primer serum, and a dual-purpose eye and lip oil. But it is safe to assume that, much like Styles’ own stance on life, Pleasing will push boundaries and release much more than just beauty products.
Pleasing’s website exudes elegance and uniqueness, matching Styles’ own recognizable aesthetic. The sleek site features an array of products with a diverse cast of models showing off the cosmetics. A major factor in the British popstar’s personal style is his willingness to break gender roles and embrace androgynous fashion. This push towards breaking down boundaries and expanding who fashion serves is replicated throughout Pleasing’s inclusive marketing. With models ranging in gender, age, and race, Harry Styles is showing the fashion industry that beauty comes from everyone.
In another line of Pleasing’s announcement post, the company writes, “We prioritize people and the planet.” Unlike many other beauty brands, all of Pleasing’s products are vegan, cruelty-free, gluten-free, and ethically sourced and made. The company further proves its dedication to people and the environment by partnering with Nest, a nonprofit with the goal of “supporting the responsible growth and creative engagement of the artisan & maker economy to build a world of greater gender equity and economic inclusion.”
This is just the beginning of Styles’ new endeavors as an entrepreneur, and Pleasing is sure to have more exciting releases that continue to challenge the norms of fashion and beauty.
With prices ranging from $20-$65, “Perfect Pearl” is now available for pre-order at Pleasing.com.
