It’s that time of year again: fall! That means it’s also “Gilmore Girls” rewatch season. The popular show, which first aired in 2000, is currently available on Netflix. The series follows young mom Lorelai, played by Lauren Graham, and her daughter Rory, played by Alexis Bledel, as they navigate life in the small town of Stars Hollow, Connecticut. More than 20 years after its release, the show remains relevant, going viral on social media each fall, with sounds directly from the series. One example is, “So, what’s the verdict? I am an autumn,” a conversation between Rory and her grandfather, who just took a magazine quiz. This trending audio, taken from one of the show’s many fall episodes, has inspired thousands of videos.

The show also serves as a source of encouragement for many college students, as Rory attends college and is known for her studious, academically driven character, motivating others to do the same. While Gilmore Girls brings viewers that quintessential fall feeling, it also captures all other seasons, with episodes that can be enjoyed year-round. However, as autumn arrives, many tend to gravitate toward the fall episodes. Below are some standout episodes that take place in the fall to get you into a warm, cozy mood.

Season 1 Episode 7: “Kiss and Tell”

This episode is vital for Team Dean as Rory and him have their first kiss in the local grocery store. Rory doesn’t tell her mother, but they eventually talk over a movie night and some junk food. Dean is invited over, and Lorelai gives him a warning not to break Rory’s heart. Also, it's the beginning of the Autumn Festival for Stars Hollow and everyone is decorating. Everyone except for the town grump, Luke. This is perfect for the fall lovers.

Season 3 Episode 9: “A Deep Fried Korean Thanksgiving”

This is a classic episode showcasing the infamous mother daughter duo. Lorelai and Rory have committed to going to four separate Thanksgiving dinners. Jackson is trying to deep fry the turkey causing Sookie to go a little stir crazy and drink a lot of margaritas. On the other side of town, Lane has her first kiss with Dave played by Adam Brody. Of course it wouldn’t be a Gilmore Girls episode without an appearance of Kirk who has just adopted a cat who is conveniently named Kirk as well. This episode is 42 minutes of warm family vibes perfect for fall.

Season 4 Episode 9: “Ted Koppel’s Big Night Out”

With the start of fall, also means the start of football season. This episode is all about Rory and Lorelai visiting their grandparents, Emily and Richard’s, tailgate at the Harvard vs. Yale football game. Lots of drama comes at fans with the appearance of Richard’s past love, Paris’s interview, and Lane accepting a dinner invitation. This is a perfect American fall episode.

Season 5 Episode 7: “You Jump, I Jump Jack”

If you are Team Logan, then this episode is for you. In a twist, Rory spends the night camping with Logan’s friends and the tradition ends with them jumping from a great height. This is the episode where Emily finds out about Lorelai and Luke dating, providing peak drama for the viewers. Luke even goes golfing with Richard. While the events of the episode continue, the backdrop is full of the pretty fall colors. Especially on the golf course, pretty leaves can be seen most of the time. This is a great episode for fall aesthetics.
