Denim Dreams

Denim, denim, denim! While it might be a simple, easy fall staple, the different varieties of denim can be hard to pick from. Wide or straight-leg? High or low-rise? Do we mix and match different shades of blue? Thankfully, UP is here to help with a vast list of options that perfectly encapsulate 2024’s autumn denim styling.

Denim on Denim

The art of styling denim together, whether it is a jean skirt and top, or jeans and a jacket, has been very popular lately. Typically, you should keep the same wash when styling together to maintain a simple monochrome fit. You can also pair this outfit up with a bold set of boots, or sleek gold or silver jewelry. If you’re looking for an effortless dark wash outfit, Zara’s TRF Denim Shirt and Dark Indigo Jeans are perfect.

Low-Rise Jeans

While unpopular for some, low-rise jeans can often pull an entire outfit together. Unlike the low-rise jeans that came with the return of Y2k styles a couple of years ago, these low-rise jeans are different, coming right just below the navel. If baggier, these jeans can be coupled with either a tight cropped sweater, or fitted long sleeve. If your pick of jeans are tighter, then a simple baggy cardigan or an off-the shoulder look could work very nicely.

Wide-Leg Jeans

Skinny jeans went out of style a while ago, and with that came the growth of wide-leg jeans. There are many variations of wide-leg jeans: flare, ultra-wide, low, mid or high-rise. All of these options are perfect for this autumn’s wardrobe collection; it’s more in the pairing of the top that goes with these jeans. With wide-legs, it is important to choose a form-fitting top to go along with them, either crop tops or a tucked in long-sleeve. While a bit pricy, Levi's Ribcage Wide-Leg Jeans sold at Free People, are a timeless piece, and perfect for any outfit.

Jean Jackets

Going out in Oxford during the winter. Freezing, windy, so how do you still keep a cute look for the bars? Jean jackets are an easy fix to this dilemma as they create a seamless outfit, while still keeping you warm. PrettyLittleThing’s Vintage Boyfriend Denim Jacket or Anthropologie’s The Weston Denim Boyfriend Jacket could be the exact thing needed to elevate your winter outfit game.
