Bob haircuts have made a huge comeback over the past year, reasserting itself as a go-to look for many. Almost every type of cut from short and choppy bobs to long-layered bobs has dominated salons worldwide. With celebrities giving into the trend, it is safe to say that bobs aren’t going anywhere anytime soon.
We have gone from pin-straight hair, to “The Rachel,” to the sleek and modern bobs of today. This resurgence begs the question: Are bobs taking over 2024? The answer seems to be a yes. With its timeless appeal and ability to tend to various face shapes and personal styles, bobs have become a staple in the world of hairstyling.
This past weekend Zendaya was seen with her “baroque bob” at a tennis tournament in Indian Wells, California. While she’s had a bob since 2022, this baroque is a slightly longer bob, and its glamor lies in the way it’s styled. But if there’s one celebrity who can look red carpet ready sitting court-side, it’s Zendaya.
Sydney Sweeney is the latest celebrity to chop her hair off. Sweeney debuted her old Hollywood bob at this year’s Oscars after-party. Like the rest of the world, Sweeney retired her signature long-layered hair in favor of a voluminous bob.
The influence of celebrities like Zendaya and Sweeney has not gone unnoticed. Their bold choices in haircuts have undoubtedly inspired many to embrace this trend and make it their own. With the bob’s incredible versatility, there is no shortage of options when it comes to styling a bob. Plus, the ease of maintenance makes it an attractive choice for those with busy lifestyles.
